"Put on some music and go to your happy place", just said those exact words yesterday to a close friend that was having a rough Monday. Life can be challenging and we all have that one thing(or more than one) that takes us to our happy place when we need it most. Beyond my family and friends my happy place is East Street Design. My clients who invite me into their homes and allow me to do what I enjoy most - The emails I receive from random fans filled with amazing compliments about my work... totally happy!! This business has taught me so much about myself. I am constantly growing from my experiences and having to work on those things that I already knew needed work. My biggest struggle in general, I say yes when I should say no. A work in progress that I may never actually perfect:) Enough said, I know I am not the only one.
Here are some pieces that have gone out in the past few weeks. The first is a antique empire dresser that I had for sale on "pick your paint". Painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emile. We used mercury glass knobs on the top drawers.
A antique sewing table had been in the family for years. It was moving into a little girls room. Pink glass flower knobs and painted white.
An absolutely gorgeous antique sideboard. Painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Paris Grey. We kept the original hardware.
The French Provincial pieces are always my favorite! This was originally a china cabinet with a huge piece that sat on top with glass doors and shelves. Without the top cabinet it was too low to be used as a sideboard but perfect for a media center. Painted in Paris Grey and we kept the hardware but I spray painted them.
Tell me, what is your happy place??
