"Bye-Bye, Helen!"

Each time I find a piece of furniture, we immediately become connected.  I spend a lot of time with them, we become bonded, the piece and me.  Each one has its own personality, each one touches me in a unique way, you might laugh(or you'll assume its the paint fumes getting to me), but they talk to me.  And I always listen.
And like any other living thing that is in my life, they need a name.  Of course, I love some more than others...and with some I struggle to even say good-bye.  That's how it was with Helen.  This lovely vintage chest came into my life-I discovered her long lost beauty and adored everything about her.  She conviently found the perfect spot in my dining room and I am certain she was very comfortable there.  The longer time went by, the more attached to her I became.  I put her picture on my Website Shop and knew that if no one wanted her, that we would have been content together for years to come.  But, alas, Helen's beauty was noticed by others and she was swept into a new home this week.  And although I know she will be very happy in her new loving home, I can't help but miss her just a little.

This week I have been working on an old desk.  Make sure to check back in a few days for before and after pictures!
