...A Sweet Emilie makeover

This particular piece was for my youngest client to date.  And the one I most wanted to be happy!  At 3 years old she came to me with one request...a purple bed please.  Who could deny that?!

The bed has been in her Mommy's family for years and we wanted to keep it that way.  It had been painted in the early 90's with a bright yellow ragging technique with a bouquet of flowers stenciled on the crest.

So I called in Annie Sloan's Emilie to save the day!  It is the most beautiful, soothing yet fun shade of lilac.

...Mismatched Mod to Farmhouse Fab!

This particular client is one of my supportive friends and neighbors I have talked about in the past.  I specifically remember lounging at the pool last Summer, telling her what I was doing.  Her response was something along the lines of, "That is so awesome, I love to support women doing what they love!  I better have you do my stuff before you get over-booked".  That is exactly the kind of sweet support a girl appreciates!

Since then I have completely transformed her dining table, chairs and sideboard.  The table and chairs came with the husband.  Not her style but she lived with it for years.  The sideboard came from another room in the house.

This is the one and only before picture I got(working hard to remember more before pics ).  The light blonde wood was not the Farmhouse Chic look she was going for.  I used Old White and lots of dark wax on this piece.

The chairs and bottom half of the table were done in a lighter version of Duck Egg Blue and the top matches the sideboard.  The two color combination completely changed the look of the table.  It was walking the more modern line and now is totally urban farmhouse chic!

She didn't need any help pulling it all together.  I walked in her house yesterday and it feels completely inviting and just like something out of a magazine.

The longer I do this the more amazed I become by the pure power of paint!!

 Enjoy your day!

Who Needs Vision When You Have Me...

I have many clients who just can't see past what that old thing is, to what that old thing could BE!!!  I also have many clients who know exactly what they want and just need me to execute it for them.  I love you ALL!

But seriously, who needs vision when you have me??  That is what I am here for!  It all has potential.  And I can find it for you!

This was a hand me down piece that my client received from her husbands Grandparents.  Most of us have hand me down pieces someplace in our home.  We appreciate them(mostly) but they are not always our style.  Don't assume it can never be something you love, no matter how much you hate it.

We took the top cabinet off and she is going to hang open shelves on the wall over the sideboard instead.  I painted it in ASCP Graphite and added new hardware.  A completely different look for a fraction of the cost AND guess what...your neighbor won't have the same piece.  Its one of a kind!

So look around and call me if you need vision, that is what I am here for!

P.S.  That is my lovely assistant Chase.  He is always by my side.  Today he sat down just as I was about to take the picture.  He is not being delivered with the furniture!

...Spring Fever

Spring Fever...Oh yes, I have it!!!

This is my lilac tree that has just started to bloom.  I have been enjoying Spring and all that comes with it!  I wish she could bloom all Summer because I love seeing her that much!  But then maybe I wouldn't appreciate the few short weeks I get with her:)

Juggling my busy workload and being a Mom to 3 very active kids has left the blog low on my list.  So this post is a lot of everything thrown into one.

Stay with me because I promise it will be worth it!

This is a before of a french provincial dresser.  Part of a whole bedroom set I picked up but ended up seperating.

...And after!

This piece was done for a client that used it in her master bedroom to go under a flat screen tv that hung on the wall.  It turned out to be the perfect mix of modern and vintage.

It was my first time using Versailles on an entire piece.  Its a very neutral color with a touch of green that goes with everything.  I used lots of dark wax and heavily distressed it.

I lined all the drawers with scented drawer liners.  This way its pretty for my client and she won't have to worry about her husband wanting to use the extra drawer space(not unless he wants to smell like vanilla). Shhh, don't tell our secret strategy!

This is a before of a chest and nightstand from the 70's.  They have been kept in great shape but the color and hardware dated them.  My client wanted to use them in her sons room because they had been her husbands.

...And after!

Almost wouldn't recognize the transformation is so great!  Painted in Graphite and new oil rubbed bronze hardware.

I had posted this nightstand a few weeks back.  It goes along with the dresser(and there is still a gorgeous bed available).

This piece was painted a french blue that I mixed and lots of dark wax.  It turned out beautiful!!

It is for sale at Pomegranate & Lime.  A lovely, eclectic gift shop located in the Village of Mariemont at 6804 Wooster Pike.

Perfect way to bring a little classy to your bedside!

This was an antique Mersman table I picked up from craigslist.  It was to go in my space at Mercantile Mall but sold on my facebook page before it made it.

Which reminds me.  Find me on facebook if you have not already.  I often post stuff on there before it heads to the store.

I posted this antique vanity a few weeks ago as well.

It is painted in Old White and very distressed.  I could see this piece as a vanity, writing desk, in a foyer or at your bedside.  Its classic!

update - SOLD

Totally shabby chic!

Before of a 1980's Queen Ann style sideboard.

...And after!

Painted in French Linen with new bronze hardware.  This piece has a whole new look!  This was done for a client that I did a full design consultation for.  I helped her pick out a new table and chairs but decided we could easily transform this into the look she wanted.  We are still working on the finishing touches for the room but she is very happy so far!

And that concludes my marathon post!

Thanks for sticking with me!
